The Clermont London Victoria Review: Ideal for First Visits
With over 1,500 hotels to choose from in London, finding the right one can feel overwhelming. Analysis paralysis is real! So that’s where my first-hand The Clermont London, Victoria review comes in!
Our room was not only pretty, it was spacious. It had a little side nook that gave us room to spread out (which both my daughter and I appreciated). It also included a complimentary mini bar (awesome bonus!).
The onsite restaurant served up delicious meals, and the bar/lounge was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing. And the location? Beyond incredible! The hotel is right next to London Victoria Station. (More on all of this below. )

My teen daughter and I recently decided to squeeze in a trip to London that doubled as a vacation and a chance to see one of our favorite artists in concert while she was on tour in London (#weโค๏ธbeyonce).
Our trip was on the shorter side in terms of days, so we wanted to be near Londonโs most iconic landmarks to avoid spending half our time just commuting around.
Plus we wanted easy access to public transportation because we’d heard that that would be the easiest way to travel to and from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the concert was held.
And of course, we wanted something beautiful and clean, with all of the amenities we’ve grown to really appreciate when we travel.

And after some frantic (and sometimes overwhelming) researching, we landed on the perfect fit for us: The Clermont London, Victoria.

COMFORTABLE – CONVENIENT – LUXURIOUS –
The Clermont London, Victoria Hotel
The best option for families and first-time visitors
From the moment we walked through the doors, it felt like we made the right choice: a hotel that balances style, location, and convenience in a way that made our whirlwind London trip feel seamless.
If youโre looking for a London hotel thatโs comfortable, beautiful, and steps from everything, I can absolutely recommend this one.
Why We Booked The Clermont Hotel Victoria
We didnโt have months to plan this tripโwe were pulling it together in just a few weeks. That meant every decision had to be quick but intentional, especially when it came to where we stayed.
What we needed in an ideal London hotel option
โ๏ธ I needed a hotel that was in a safe, central location and close to Londonโs biggest landmarks. It was my daughterโs first visit, and I wanted her to feel immersed in the city’s vibe.

โ๏ธ Plus, since the trip was on the shorter side, we needed to select a location that allowed us to minimize the amount of our vacation time we’d spend traveling from place to place.
โ๏ธ But I also needed to make sure we’d be able to get to and from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium without it being a logistical nightmare. Even though Iโd been to London before, Iโd never really navigated the transportation system solo. So I looked for a hotel that would make public transit feel manageable.
โ๏ธ And, of course, it goes without saying that we had to have a space that was clean, comfortable, and inviting.
We ultimately chose The Clermont London, Victoria because it checked every box.
What stood out immediately
Itโs attached to Victoria Station, putting trains, buses, and the Underground quite literally at our doorstep.
That took a huge weight off my shoulders and made it easy to plan everything else around itโour tours, meals, and even concert night. It’s also super close to some of the sights I really wanted my daughter to see.
Plus, we just really love all of the amenities that come with a higher-end hotel!
First, the full in-room mini bar that was restocked daily for free (!) was beyond what we’ve come to expect. And the availability of room service, an onsite gym, and laundry and dry cleaning services are those special touches that make a hotel extra comfortable.

Location That Does the Heavy Lifting
If youโre trying to make the most of a short London trip, location can make or break your experience. Thatโs where The Clermont London, Victoria really shines. Itโs not just central. Itโs plugged in.
Ideal if you need public transportation
The hotel connects directly to Victoria Station, one of Londonโs busiest transport hubs. There, youโll find:

- National Rail services to Gatwick Airport (via the Gatwick Express) and southern England
- The Victoria Line, District Line, and Circle Line on the Undergroundโeasy routes to places like Oxford Circus, Westminster, and the West End
- A major bus terminal right around the cornerโfor routes across central London and beyond
We discoveredโand lovedโthat the hotel even has an internal door directly into the station.

I didnโt even realize that when I booked it, but it ended up being a huge bonus. It made everyday travel feel effortless.
We used public transportation to get to the Little Venice area of London by train, and hopped on a bus nearby to head to Harrods and other West End stops.
So much to do within walking distance
The hotel is also walking distance to many key London neighborhoods and attractions.
We walked to Buckingham Palace in about 10 minutes and to the high-end neighborhood Belgravia in around 15 (no celebrity or royalty sightings though ๐). Westminster Abbey and Big Ben were only about a 20 minute walk from the hotel! So cool.

And while we didnโt have time to explore them, the Pimlico (15 minutes) and Chelsea (30 minutes) neighborhoods are also within walking distance of the hotel. Both of those are known for their upscale shops, art galleries, and riverside charm.
Thereโs a small park just across the street from the hotel, where we relaxed between outings.

Just a heads-up: thereโs another Clermont hotel in town, The Clermont Charing Crossโbut that’s not this one. We stayed at The Clermont London, Victoria, right on Buckingham Palace Road.

Room Layout: Flexible for Families
Our room was a Superior Room with a King Bed and a Sofa Bed, and it ended up being a perfect fit for the two of us. My daughter got her own space (and happily claimed the pull-out sofa), while I had a big, comfortable king bed to myself.

The layout felt spacious, and one unexpected benefit was a little bonus space with a bench where we could stretch out, spread out our stuff, or grab a moment of separation when we needed it.

For a single mom traveling with a teenager, it worked beautifully. But I could also see this room layout working for a couple traveling with a teen or even a family with two smaller kids whoโd be comfortable sharing the sofa bed.
Itโs hard to find London hotel rooms that actually sleep four without feeling crampedโ I think this one could pull it off.
If your group or travel style calls for something a little different, the hotel has several other room types available:
- Classic Rooms โ Best for couples or solo travelers; smaller footprint with the same elegant design touches.
- Deluxe King Rooms โ A bit more spacious, with high-end Hypnos mattresses, rainfall showers, and work-friendly layouts.
- Studio Suites โ Include a separate lounge area, ideal if you need extra space to relax or work without being stuck in bed.
- Signature Suites โ More luxurious options with roll-top baths and elegant sitting areasโgreat for longer stays or special trips.
Every room includes thoughtful extras like a Nespresso machine, rainfall shower, and desk space.

Dining: Pleasant Surprises from Room Service to Bar Snacks
On two different nights during our stay, we ordered room service at The Clermont London, Victoria and were genuinely surprised by how good the food was. It was flavorful with big-enough portions, and hit the spot.
The first time we chose room service because we were too exhausted to eat out. The second time, we chose it just because we really loved the food.

Breakfast was included with our room, and the buffet was solid. You could put together your own version of a traditional English breakfast if you wanted (minus the black pudding).
They also had croissants, pastries, cereals, and all the usual buffet fare. Nothing wildly fancy, but enough variety to start the day off right without having to think too hard.
I also spent a couple of evenings at The Reunion Bar, located just off the lobby. Itโs a really inviting space with a luxe feelโwarm lighting, quiet energy, and a well-curated drinks menu.

It was the perfect place to decompress while giving my daughter a little space to FaceTime friends back in the room. They had a few small bites and appetizers, but itโs mostly a drinks-forward space, so donโt go hungry.

What Else We Loved
The aesthetic, ambiance, and amenities of the hotel really made an impression on us.
โ It has that rich, traditional British styleโornate moldings, high ceilings, velvet textures, and a stunning chandelierโthat made us feel like we were staying somewhere historic but still comfortable.

Walking into the lobby each day felt like returning to a calm, elevated retreat from the city.
โ๏ธ The location-based perks continued to impress throughout our stay. On our last morning, we strolled down Buckingham Palace Road and found a row of cute souvenir shops.
Some sold the standard touristy items, but others had more traditional giftsโteapots, teas, candiesโthat felt a little more curated and special. Everything was within a few minutesโ walk.

โ The neighborhood felt safe and well-connected, even at night. We never felt uneasy walking back after dinner or navigating the area after dark. (It’s still a major city, though, so ALWAYS be vigilant!)
โ๏ธ Room-wise, we also appreciated how peaceful it was. Despite being next to a major train station, the room was well soundproofedโwe heard almost nothing from the outside or even from the hallway, which made it easy to rest between long days.

What Could’ve Been Better
We had very few complaints, but a couple of things are worth mentioning.
โ When we first arrived, there was a short set of stairs at the main entrance and no bellman in sight. After a transatlantic flight, dragging our luggage up steps was not ideal.

I later learned we could have gone inside and asked for help from the staff, but there was no signage indicating that. If you’re arriving solo, with kids, or with accessibility needs, itโs worth being aware of that hiccup.
โ Additionally, our room was on the first floor (one flight up from the lobby), which is also where the hotel has some conference and meeting rooms.
I didn’t love the feel of that. It sort of took away from the vacation feel to see folks in their business suits and on their laptops while I was trying to forget about my own job ๐. I would suggest you request a room on a higher floor without conference rooms if you think you might feel the same way I did.
โ Finally, while the price felt justified by the quality, this is not a budget hotel. Itโs in a prime area of central London (Zone 1), and we booked somewhat last minute โso prices were on the higher side. ๐ธ
That said, you do get what you pay for, and in our case, the beauty, convenience, and comfort were worth it.
